  • If water stations are present on both sides of the road, the left side is usually less crowded because most people are right handed.
  • Avoid choking or coughing by not inhaling and drinking at the same time. Taking small sips will help as well.
  • You might want to slow a bit as you approach the station so you’re not breathing heavily while you’re trying to drink.
  • If you want to run through a water station, pinch the top of the cup so it forms a spout. That will allow you to dump the whole cup into your mouth without spilling any.
  • It’s faster to grab a cup from a volunteer instead of off the table.
  • Walking through the station is alright to do, especially in longer races. It’s a nice break and you can drink a few different cups.
